In this case, we faced a two-fold challenge: firstly, we had to redesign Saarioinen’s classic casseroles to have them look more attractive whilst also retaining their essence. Secondly, we had to come up with a solution that would improve the segmentation between various categories of recipes like those considered to be classic or easy-going, as well as just simple accompaniments.
Considering that the range, recipe, and ingredients must be present on the packaging, we knew that finding the right balance between all of them could prove tricky. On this occasion, we played with different backgrounds, with a view to creating a unique personality for each range. With this in mind, we decided on a wooden background upon which we laid out fresh ingredients, adding warmth and life to the design. For the “easy-going” recipes we added a touch of colour, whereas for the accompaniments range we used a neutral background that lends them an air of calm and comfort.
