Celebrity-Owned Consumer Brands

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Off late, it seems as if celebrities, especially movie-stars have taken over the consumer market, with so many of them launching their own successful product lines. In case you need a memory-jog, here’s our list of popular global brands owned by some of our favourite movie stars:

The Honest Co. by Jessica Alba: Jessica founded this wellness brand with a simple desire to offer families a range of safe and trusted products for themselves and their kids. As per Jessica, “you shouldn’t have to choose between what works for you and what’s good for you”. Making sure her brand walks the talk, The Honest Co.’s ethos are rooted in transparency, consciousness and community.

Just Water by Jaden Smith: As far as Jaden Smith is concerned, it seems entrepreneurship runs in the genes! Following in his uber-cool dad’s footsteps and in collaboration with him, Jaden Smith founded his non-profit venture, Just Water, with an aim to reduce plastic pollution in the ocean through an offering of affordable water products with impact. This, definitely more than just an Insta-worthy fashion celebrity, we say!

Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore: Launching a beauty range seems like the ‘it’ thing to do, ever since the runaway success of Kyle Jenner’s Kyle Cosmetics. Another credible name in the list of ever-growing celeb beauty business owners is Drew Barrymore. She launched her brainchild, Flower Beauty back in 2013 with a mission to share her passion for beauty and empower women to look and feel good in their own skin through the best qualityluxurious products at affordable prices.

Naja by Gina Rodriguez: Co-founded by Golden Globe awardee, Gina Rodriguez, Naja is a sustainable, environment friendly brand created to offer “high-quality, fashion-focussed, environmentally friendly lingerie for this generation’s women”. The brand is doing its bit to contribute to sustainability through use of ethical production techniques to manufacture lingerie for women of all sizes and body types.

Last, but certainly not the least (by any measure!), 22 Days Nutrition by Beyoncé: The story goes that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were quite convinced about the benefits of a plant-based diet after learning about it from their personal trainer. However, they soon realized it was about more than just one meal. This was a whole movement – one that they got inspired to not just embrace but to also share with the world. As a logical next step, they partnered with 22 Days Nutrition with the goal to empower people to live a healthier life. The brand propagates the consumption of plant-based foods through its meal-planning service as well as has on offer a host of food products such as protein bars, protein powders and snacks.
